PRIDE GUIDE 2003 GAY PEOPLE'S CHRONICLE

A night to hold hands-if you can-on the roller coaster

by Troy Henson

Cincinnati Celebrate diversity with the Cincinnati GLBT Center at the Midwest's premiere family theme park on Friday, September 26.

Pride Night 2003 at Paramount's Kings Island will be one of the year's largest gatherings of LGBT and supportive people anywhere in the region.

The entire park will be closed to the general public for this giant, private party exclusively for our diverse community. Parking lots open at 5 pm, and the gates open at 6 pm with the park open until midnight. Major rides and attractions, including all the roller coasters, will be open throughout the evening.

In its seventh year, Pride Night at Kings Island keeps growing. With expanded advertising and more sponsorships, this year's event is expected to draw another recordbreaking crowd.

Pride Night is the Cincinnati Gay and Lesbian Center's single largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the evening are vital to keeping the doors open and programs running for another year. Special ticket pricing and discounts are going to be announced soon on the official Pride Night site, www.pkipridenight.com.

The center is holding a Pride Night Poster Contest. The winning poster will become the official representation of Pride Night at Kings Island.

The artist will be rewarded with $200 cash, as well as free admission to Pride Night at Kings Island. Entries were due on May 25, but viewing and voting on the entries runs until June. The winner will be announced at

a reception at 7 pm on June 9 at the Cincinnati GLBT Center, 4119 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati.

For questions regarding the event or to be part of the event committee please call 513591-0200 ext. 21 or E-mail troy@glbtcenter cincinnati.com.

Before that, stop by the Cincinnati GLBT

Center's booth at the Cincinnati Pride Festival on June 7 between 4 and 10 pm and June 8 between 1 and 7 pm. Register for a free chance to win a mystery prize. The center will be registering people to vote in Hamilton County, and adding people to the e-newsletter and a new e-group, the Weekly, an event calendar for the GLBT community that
